A geometric wordmark with friendly characteristics and a unique ‘g’ cleaned up and ready to perform at all sizes.
The in good time logo came to me mostly finished. A geometric sans serif typeface had been chosen as the base and modifications had been made to the ‘g’ to make the wordmark more unique. Most of the clean up process involved removing extra points in the vectors, smoothing the curves, refining the spacing, and unifying the joins and terminals of the letters.
The changes I made may seem subtle, but it’s important for logos to have clean vectors and precise shapes. This avoids problems that may become more evident when the logo is enlarged or reduced in size dramatically.
The ‘e’ and ‘g’ were changed the most during clean up. The ‘e’ had a counter that was too small and was at risk of disappearing at small sizes as well as the overall form feeling unbalanced. For both of these letters, I unified the way terminals ended and the way different parts of the letters joined with each other.
